Why do I need to use social media for my business?
Social media marketing is an incredibly efficient medium to build brand awareness, maintain reputation and bring highly targeted traffic to your website. To put this into perspective, 1.45 billion people on average log onto Facebook daily and are considered daily active users (Facebook DAU for March 2018), which represents a 13% increase year over year (Source: Facebook as 04/25/18). Plus, it’s possible to target a demographic based on age, gender, location and personal interests.
This isn’t to mention the resourcefulness of other networks such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and Google+ which all offer different ways to reach and engage with your audience.
When will I start seeing sales/leads in my business?
Building an online presence takes time. Social media marketing is not a quick fix solution. However, with the right strategy, time and a great social media marketer in your corner, you can see great results from being present online.
What’s the difference between Facebook boosts and Facebook ads?
Boosting a post on Facebook is a cheap and easy way to get more engagement on a particular post. A Facebook ad is a more robust way to increase engagement, target the demographics, and increase conversions.
Can’t I just have an intern/family member/assistant run my social media?
You sure can! However, be aware that social media is not just about posting. While most people (especially your college intern) understand how to post on social media, an effective strategy requires skills and extensive knowledge. Your results from working with someone untrained in social media will vary from someone who is.
Is Facebook dying? Should I still be using it?
Of course not! Is it changing? Absolutely. But, so is every other platform. The key is staying ahead of the algorithm changes and adapting. As your social media team, that’ll be our job (link to services) and we do it pretty well!
How important is gaining followers and friends on social media?
Friends and followers is important. You want to know that people are out there looking for you. However, the key metrics you should focus on is engagement. Engagement is what drives most social media algorithms. The more people like, comment and share your content, the more likely others will see it.
Can I just post the same content across all platforms?
You can, but we wouldn’t recommend it! Why would someone follow you on Twitter if they can get the exact same content on Facebook? You want your audience to want to engage with your content on many different platforms! Plus, each platform is different. Content that performs great on Linkedin might not be ideal for Instagram and vice versa.
What will you post about?
Depending on your industry, we will create relevant content that attracts and encourages engagement from your audience. Along with industry related content, we will also post about your products/services and updates on your business. Learn more about our social media management services here. (Link to services)
Why are you posting content not directly related to my business?
The truth is, it’s not all about your business! The rule of thumb for content marketing is to create 20% of content related to your business and 80% of content related to your industry. This is to keep your audience engaged and to attract new people to your business. While content promoting your business is great, only posting that type of content doesn’t foster engagement or offer value to your audience.
How do we know if my potential customers are using social media?
When we work together, we’ll work to define your target audience and where they hang out online! So, you’ll know that we’re using an effective strategy to reach the right people.
A 2013 study by PEW Research Center found that over 72% of online U.S. adults are using social media. So, there’s a pretty good chance we will find your people!
How do we know if your social media management and strategies are working?
When it comes to ROI, you may not see that direct measurement of your social media efforts. However, social media does allow us to track when people visit your website, what links they click and helps us understand your customer better. Social media marketing is actually more measurable than more traditional marketing platforms such as print advertising.
What happens if I get negative feedback on social media?
Depending on what package you choose, we will either give a professional response or advise you on how to respond. Negative feedback can happen anywhere. The key is to address the issue and use customer service skills to alleviate the issue. Luckily, customer service is one of our main focuses!
